Huge penis idolized in Japan

H?nen Matsuri (Harvest Festival) is a fertility festival celebrated every year on March 15 in Japan. The main attraction of this festival is a 280 kg (620 pound), 2.5 meter (96 inch)-long wooden phallus (erect penis). This giant penis is carried by 12 men at the time. All men are 42 years old, which is considered to be an unlucky age in Japan. They all seek protection by carrying the giant penis.
This festival and ceremony celebrate the blessings of a bountiful harvest and all manner of prosperity and fertility.
